CHECKING OUT SOME OF
Spotify Audio Features
FEEL GOOD
FEEL BLUE
VALENCE. A measure from 0.0 to 1.0 describing the musical positiveness conveyed
by a
track. High
valence = more positive. Low valence = more negative.
FEEL LIKE DANCING
DANCEABILITY. How suitable a track is for dancing based on a combination of
musical
elements including tempo, rhythm stability, beat strength, and overall regularity. 0.0 = least
danceable.
1.0 = most danceable.
FEEL THE ENERGY
ENERGY. 0.0 to 1.0 represents a perceptual measure of intensity and
activity. Features include dynamic range, perceived loudness, timbre, onset rate, and general entropy.
Energetic tracks feel fast, loud, and noisy. Death metal = high energy. Bach prelude = low energy.
The objective was to explore some of the Spotify audio features.
The songs were randomly chosen and then categorized into four different playlists. A value above 0.5 was
determined to qualify for a
category, except "FEEL BLUE" which has a valence value of less than 0.5.
This is not an official Spotify project, but it is built with data
from the open Spotify Web API.
